WOYWW 95....& Some Storage!

Well this is the state of my desk the other day before it was tidied up, as I dont leave it overnight....ever! I have to clear everything away once my sessions making are done. I have been making some more Kanban kits up that I have had a while this week.

As you can see I have a Craftwork Cards Goody-bag on my desk, that one came from the Manchester Craft show last September, such good value! The A4 Size drawers from Ikea on my desk store my made up Embellishment's and bought Die Cuts.

Theses small section Ikea drawers at the side of my desk store little sets of things, like Embossing powders & glitters & Stickles & Ink Pads, Brads & the like!

I have started to have a clear out & a re-arrange of my crafty space. Mr Lavinia has moved his Guitars off the walls in the room & now I have a free wall in here!! I have been looking for (and wanted) 2 of those lovely Making Memories Wall shelves, the ones were you get to line all your stickles up & stack your Ink pads on, Like a shop!!! But, alas they dont make them anymore :(
So I will have to keep looking or try to make something myself?? If anyone one here knows of anywere that might still have a stock of them, please please let me know!

So though I would show you a few extra drawer pics this week as I have nothing made to show really this week, I have made cards but,......not really got a mojo going this week so results were not really that good to show! Maybe next day or so will yield something! Hope your all ok & enjoying your crafting! Will be visiting desks this week, as last week I was so busy with stuff & life I really did not get any time on here! Feel out the crafty loop! Take care all!

WOYWW 93!!! Hello Wowers!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Whats On Your Work desk Wednesday 93! If your not sure what I am on about or whats it all about then hop over to Julias Blog here http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com and come and join in the desk snooping! Its a real insight & fun too!

Here today I have some stash from Craftwork Cards I acquired recently from the "Ooh La La" range. Dont know what I am doing with them yet, just keep shuffling them from here to there then back again! Anyhow my desk has some early Kanban bit & bobs here and there that I am trying to make up & get used in to card sets of 6, maybe for selling at some craft fairs over the summer. Also I have been having a mess with some rub ons I have had a while too. All in all I am trying to use up some stash I have had ages but not used.

Heres the card you can see on the left of my desk finished. I used my free subscription gifts from last weeks desk I showed you. Heres one of the Crafty Individuals collage stamps, stamped & embossed with clear embossing powder over Brilliance's Starlight Black, then coloured with Pro markers and matted & layered with some gold card & white card. I then highlighted it further with Sakura pens. The butterfly was the free stamp with the latest Craft Stamper magazine. Embossed in Cosmic Shimmers True White embossing powder & again used Sakura to colour. The paper is from Crafty Individuals. The Stamped sentiment is from an American Crafts set.

As you will have read last week on here I bought a Vagabond die cutting machine. However I did return it as I realized my Cuttlebug did the same thing. And I though I dont need two that do the same thing. So I then saw the Grand Calibur machine from Spellbinders! Now this is what I NEEDED! So heres my little review (sort of but probably more of a comparison) As you can see its bigger than the Cuttlebug, quite a bit & heavier too. But it has fantastic A4 size cutting plates and the Grand Dies are brilliant for making your own card blank's. I just wanted to show you the size in comparison to the Bug......and this is a looking down showing you how much wider it is....

And the next pic shows just how Grand the Dies & plates are compared to the bug! I have been using it since receiving it last Friday. I really love it, it takes die cutting to a new dimension. I love being able to make my own card blank's & bigger mats for my cards up to a massive 8x8.

All I need now is some more Dies!!! So I have decided to take myself off to The Great Northern Paper-crafts Show in Harrogate on Sunday. As some of you know I am a newish driver & since passing my test last September it ill be my first long drive (well sort of long, about an hour & half) Looking forward to it though, its a good show! I went last year and had a really great day out. Anyhow I will let you know how it went next week & hopefully some new stash & dies! Take care all of you & enjoy the nice weather we are still sort of having!

WOYWW 92

Hello WOYWW'ers! Hope you all well & enjoying (or rather in my case, enjoyed) the weather! Its cold & overcast here today! As you can see my desk is pepper'd with stuff this week! Had quite a productive one & got half a dozen cards made in one sitting. All A6 & and made with Papermainias new "Pampered Pets Collection" I saw them in The Range & just couldn't resist! They are so cute! My other stash are freebies this week on the next pic are my subscriptions gifts from, Craft Stamper Magazine 3 Stamps & Pad from Crafty Individuals. And the Pro Markers are a subscription gift from Simply Cards & Paper-craft Magazine (Nov 10 issue) not bad eh! I mixed the pet set with some new Papers I found in Dunelm Mill. "Love Letters" paper pad is by (to me) a new range by a company called First Edition Papers. The quality is really good & you get a nice selection in the pad too, Glitter'd, Plain & double sided papers. This set is all pinks & pale & dark greens, very nice. Theres even 3 sheets (...lol...) yes three sheets! :) Of little tags & 3 sheets...lol...(sorry) of Alphas too & they are glittered too! Pretty good value at £6.99 for 8x8 I think! I also used some Kay & Co Tags from the Madeline Collection. These are my finished results!

Erm this next pic shows something I was waiting to come in over here in the uk !!! Yes the new Tim Holtz "Vagabond" die cutting machine! Yes it came in a very nice box, it's very heavy, and its made by Sizzix. You get the multi-use platform with it and it has an extra shim clipped to it & a pair of smaller sized cutting plates. I tried it & it was...erm....ok...but to be honest with you, it does not do much more more than my Cuttlebug does already! Ok you can cut thicker stuff with it like Grungeboard & leather (although I have not tried it) But Alas for all its good looks and hype, I have returned it! Its not for me, it will be for some of you, but not me. I am now waiting for the New Spellbinders "Grand Callibure" instead :) being as thats the new A4 size machine I think I will get more use from it than the Vagabond. Plus I cant wait to use the Big Nesties with it too. I saw it on Create & Craft on easy pay & though right thats the one! So hopefully it will be in one of my posts soon...... Sorry Tim!

Right O! I bid you all Audi & will catch up with your desks! Keep well & warm!

Thank you & Just Because!

Hello Everyone!! Well its very bright here in Sunny Manchester....not very often I say that! Mr Binxz is out enjoying the weather slinking around the garden & I am pegging washing on my line for the first time this year! Today though I would show you what I have been up to with my latest set of Prima Stamps & Craftwork cards Glitz & Glamour cardstock as well as some Papermainia papers & Of course...Peel off's, whaich I have had a few comments about of late! Glad to here other's like them as much as I do!!! I embossed the dress from with Cosmic Shimmers Coco Bean Powder & while it was still hot & sprinkled some Brown Pee Wee Glitter onto give some extra shimmer! I used Tim Holts Disstress Ink Pad in Brushed Corduroy for the distressing effect on the paper & card and and Stazon Timber Brown for the sentiment. I made up the little Rosette from looped ribbon stuck to a sticky paper disk & finished off with a Papermainia Gemstone Sticker. I sent this Card to Wipso, who's blog link is on my sidebar, as a Thank you for the"Pay It Forward" gifts she sent me. Which I will be honoring very soon!

My next Card is using pretty much the same ink's and Stamps as the last one but doing something bit different with the UTEE. I stamped the cream card black with a La Blanch Script stamp and then inked around it and applied a Peel Off Boarder on the one edge & the top left corner. I gave my stamped image 3 layers of the Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. On the last layer I sprinkled some of those tiny little balls over the image (y'know the ones that go everywhere) and a little glitter over it, then cracked it all over and rubbed some Tim Holtz Vintage photo ink over it & rubbed it into the cracks and wiped off the excess. The sentiment Stamp is by Paula Pascual from the" Mixed Sentiments" set. The fame is from a sheet of stickers I got in one of those cheap book shops. I made a double bow & cut the loops and snipped in to it. I sent this one to My Aunty as she's been a bit off ill of late!
Hope you all well & enjoying the weather were you are, as we may not have it for long!!

Blog Award!

I want to say a BIG Thank you to Morti over at
Mad Ramblings Blog for this nomination!

She said some lovely things about my Work & Blog & I am very grateful to her! She also has an excellent blog herself & her cards are fantastically creative & unique. She comes up with some very inspiring ideas. It wonderful to think that she thought of me! She mentioned that "I have Peel Off's and I am not afraid to uses them" and she's right! I do LOVE finishing a project with them. I feel they sometimes can make a card. I know there is a bit of a stigma amongst some Crafter's using them! Why I don't know? Perhaps because they see them as a bit shiny and amateurish looking, but y'know what....... I like shiny! Go one, if your reading this go and make something & get them Peel Off's used!

Part of the Liebster Blog award entails nominating 3-5 other Blogs that are newish and deserves recognition. So here are my choice's and why............

http://www.moonfiredesignsblog.com/ Rachel does some great tutorials & explains well her crafty creations! A lover of the Alterable, she does so well! Theres lessons for us all here!

http://okienurse.blogspot.com/ I love Vickie's work! She always does a brilliant job of making her creations & she's a great teacher too! Go look at some of her posts to get doing something different! She will inspire you to try "That something different"

I am a follower to all these blogs & they have all in there own way merited this award. Go and give them a look & you will know what I mean!
