WOYWW 56?

As you can see hopfully (as this was took with my phone, as for some unknown reason my Camera wouldent work today.....gremlins....) I have been Letterpressing again & using some heat resistant acetate. Decided to use some of my Prima Cardstock stash, oooo its just toooo nice to use really but hey ho sometimes it's just gotta go! Hope in some way to incorporate some if not all the different elements here in to something. Now that sounds like a blog challenge? Also, think you can just see it, had a mess with Brayering, but need to get the hang of it more & I think & getting the right kind of ink helps, which I did not have so it seemed very hard work! Hope your all well & happy & enjoying the Summer! Going to look at what you have on your desk now!!! C U soon!

Rose

Hello! Sorry it's been a few days that I have not posted anything, but I have been enjoying the weather & some football.....(tut tut tut...that's all I am going to say)... and I have just celebrated my Birthday! Got some lovely cards & prezzies from my family & friends, Thanks to all of you! Got a great new pair of boots from Mr Lavinia & went out for a fab dinner!!! And on top of all that hoping to go and have a shop for craft goodies in the next few days.
Also been catching up on some much needed housework & clutter sorting. Where dose all the junk come from?? Cant believe some of the stuff I keep hold of. I must make better choices in the future to what I consider, important to keep! Unless it's stuff in my craft room & that 2"x 2" piece of mirri card I just have to keep of course!... y'know what I mean..;-)....anyhow I am a bit more organized in certain quarters, for now.
I did however find some time to do this....I stamped a Papermainia Scalloped card blank with Tattered Rose ink & then used some Papermainia papers & the Stamp is by La Blanch. The sentiment is cut using the Slice from Adhesive glitter card from Paperchase....I love that shop! spend ages in their!.....I used the Wedding SD Card. I went over some of the stamp & highlighted it with watercolour pencils & Glossy Accents & finished using some Papermainia sticky glitter gems in the corners.
Hope to join in for WOYWW this week if time allows, why don't you join in? Head over to Julia Dunnits Blog http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and get the low down on how to get involved, it's great fun snooping on all the fab crafty stuff on everyone's desks! And showing your own off too! Go on I dare you??
Take care all & keep on enjoying this fab weather!

WOYWW..Sorting out my Drawers!

Hello! So as you can see, I decided to have a sort out of my drawers! Things were getting a bit disorganized so I tried to move stuff about! A bit in vain really, need more space, don't we all! As you can see I love ikea drawers & have six sets next to & on my desk, they are so handy. But all full! I went last week to get some more but couldn't find them anywhere? Next time I go I will ask were they have gone? hope there not discontinued! Not a very exciting desk this week I suppose, but I thought I would join in anyway! Hope you all have a great week & enjoy the sunshine.

Mini Book

Hello! Today I want to share with you a mini book I made. It started off as a learn how to do it kind of thing, as I have never done one of the little un's like this, using one sheet of 12x12 folded paper, notice I said "One sheet"....lol....sorry! I sort of got on a roll with it and ended up with this! Being as I have now figured it out I think I might have a go at another as I enjoyed it, something different! I used Kay & co papers & embellishments & used my Nesties labels 1 die. The topic had to be Mr Binxz, my cat as I have the most Pic's of him to use. The most photographed cat in the world! So all my family & friends & OH keeps telling me! Cant help it he's so cute! I made some little tags & inserted them in to the top of some of the not fully glued top's of the pages & used ribbons & peel off to finish! Hope you have a good day & keep enjoying the strangely good weather we are having in the UK!!!

21 Jun 2010

Hello! Thanks for stopping by!......I have been using some of my latest L Letterpress creations again. Decided not to use any ink for this one for a change. The embossed image is quite deep, however I just cant get it to show up to well with my photo taking skills! The second pic is about as best as I can get. I inked up the sentiment plate on this one with Versafine Ink in Onyx Black. I think it came out really well. I have used ink pads on quite a few of the press plates and up to now I have been pleased with the outcome, although I do prefer the actual Printing ink look. I used a Nestabilities die to cut & emboss out the Damask pattern. And just finished with some pale blue pearls and silver peel off's on the corners. Plain & simple yet surprisingly Elegant in it's outcome! Could be a nice look for a wedding invite.
Hope you all have a great day what is officially the Longest Day of the year (well here in the UK anyway)
Summer Solstice Bright Blessings for a fine sun & fun filled day!

Rosey

Hi! Had a dip in to my Prima cardstock today! I have not had it long & love to look!!!!!!! at it now & again, like you do!! Then put it away. But something came over me today when I got it out.....shall I use some???? This mad thought crossed my mind! I hesitated for a moment thinking, what shall I do??? And before I knew it, I had done this!!! Punched out a 2 inch tag! The horror of it then hit me, what was I thinking what have I done!!!! ARGH.........so I had to do something with said tag! I used some HOTP stamps I had & also a little dot stamp from a mini alphabet set by studio g. Embossed the edges with Gold cosmic shimmer powder, used Stickles and Timz Distress inks in Antique Linen & Walnut stain and a Whisper ink pad in chestnut. Not something I normally do but its nice to have a change.
Thanks to everyone for the encouraging comments! Your all so brill out there & super talented, your blogs make my day! I love looking at them. Hope this weather keeps up! Great when the sun shines, makes things feel better! Have a great day!

Another Fancy Invitation!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by! Hope this post finds you all well & ready for another crafty week! Today I want to show you another one of my fancy Envelope invites. I used Anna Griffin stamps & Inks for this, although the Gold embossing powder (that I over embossed!!! ARGH) is from Heat It Up! The paper I stamped on for the inside has tiny gold leaf fleck's on, but I could not get it to show up well on the photo. I think I may have mentioned, I don't have a designated photo taking area!! I just try taking them in daylight & preferably near a window in the hope I get a good pic! I do have a great Samsung SLR Camera, but tend to use either my phone or my little Cannon Camera.
Well been a bit busy today sorting my craft area out. I got a new shelf type pigeon hole thingy (its not got pigeon's in it though)...... to go on top of desk, things were getting a bit cramped & thought it was time to do something, knocking through to next door would be great, they have a load of spare space there....lol.....but I my am a but more organized now glad to say! I will put a pic on here for my What's on your Work desk Wednesday post so pop back & have a look if you can!
Well time to fly & have my coco! C u soon!

Musical Note

This is the card I made for Mr Lavinia for his birthday this week! he is a Musician by night (and a Gardener by day) he appreciated my effort! However being as we have been celebrating birthdays together for 16 years, my card ideas, for him are wearing thin! My whole card making adventure started out about 5 years ago by making him a Valentine's card instead of buying one. I remember looking around card shops for a card for weeks leading up to it, but not being able to find anything I liked & ended up in the art shop in town buying a pack of ready made valentine's toppers & some sheets of musical script printed vellum. I came home rooted out some card (as I did Bookbinding & box making at the time as a hobby) and got together my first card & the rest is history as they say! I can't recall buying a card for anyone in the past 5 years to be honest with you, everyone gets one of my made cards. I normally make the envelope's too, or maybe a box if there's a lot of embellishments on them.
I would like to say a special "Thanks" to the bloggers who joined in my award spot!
...lol...it's a bit of crafting fun eh!
Well off to make the most of the weekend in my garden hopefully! Still some bedding plants to go out & a few more planters to do, hope the weathers ok! Enjoy your weekend all!

Craftwork Kinetic!

So I was brave enough to attempt another kinetic card! This time I used my latest stash in the form of a goody bag from Craftwork Cards in Leeds. I got it at the GNPS at Harrogate this year. But like us all I expect, only got round to using it last week. Again I have used stamps by Paula Pascual, for the sentiment, which I curved a bit with my bone folder for a bit of a different look & Mc Gill & Woodwear punches for the foliage & Papermainia Flowers, the sparklys are from Kanban I think??? I also used my Label's 8 Nestie Die, love that shape! Take care all!

Yes I got it out of a skip ages ago & it weighs a tonne!!! but very sturdy! going to have a good old hop tonight & look at the blogs, when I have more time!!! Enjoy your day folks!!!

Inspired!

I am a lover of "Craft Stamper" magazine! I keenly wait the arrival of it every month falling through my letter box! I love the articles & inspiration it brings from all its talented contributors. In July's edition I loved Jo Firth-Young's, bursting with blooms project. I have attempted with this card to have a go using the same colours but with some stamps from my stash. I loved the way she has made me think about layering with stamps & using multiple stamps, something I don't always think to do! It's a really good project Jo, well done and thank you! Hope you like my attempt? Hope you all had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Birdy

Whoooo!! what a hot day it's been! Mr Binxz....... all he's done all day is sleep in the garden. Know how he feels, I would have loved to have curled up in the stone sink all day too, but I just know I wouldn't have fit in there! So I decided to make this card instead. Its Kay & co papers and a stamp I bought last time I was in Nice, France. They have a few craft shops their & some great different kinds of bits & bobs. The make is Toga, there was this bird cage & 4 little bird stamps in it. At 5 Euros I thought it was a good buy. Its only a little card 12.5 x 10.5cm, I used up some scraps to make it. Except for the sentiment, that was from a freebie from a monthly mag I buy.
Hope you all have a great BBQ weekend if the weather keeps up, fingers crossed for outdoor crafting!

Fancy Envelope

Hello Folks! I want to thank everyone who Left me a comment yesterday on my very first post for the "What's On You Workdesk Wednesday Blog" I was so chuffed to receive a warm welcome by so many uniquely talented and wonderfully gifted crafters! I look forward to my creative journey & having a good old nosey at whats on your desk's too! And from what I have already seen you all have lots of great ideas going on & lots of fab stash would love to own! So I will just have to shop more from now on!!!
And now for a mystery? I posted a card on this blog the other day using a Dawn Bibby card set purchased from QVC, my post is still their, but the picture of the card has gone? I know I posted it but its no longer visable, dose anyone know what could have happened? I would love to know where its gone? Or what I have done, did I press something i shouldent have? OOoo help!
Anyhow, finally on to today post, Anna Griffin, I love her stamps, got loads! Here is a fancy envelope I made a while back for a little invite for a party I had! I made the outside of the envelope with parchment paper stamped in Duck egg blue & gold with Anna Griffin ink. And did the inside with a rose design. I put the little embossed gold invite inside and tied it up with a nice bit of ribbon, I liked the end result & will do another one I think! Well time for bed, got to rise early tomorrow. Warm regards everyone!

Kinetic.....what's that???

It's one of these!!!......y'know the foldy, numerous page thingy cards!!! This is my 3rd attempt at doing one of these kind of card folds. Its drove me mad trying to do it, I hope you like it? I just wanted to do something different on the colour front, donno if you can pick up the front of it but I used an aperture cut with my Slice using the Vintage Findings MS+ design card. Its a change to what I normally do, which is good at the moment as I feel I am still in a bit of a crafting lull. Made quite a few cards of late but most of them just not good enough to post! Well enjoy & have a good day!

Bibby Kit Card

Hello Everyone! Firstly let me thank Carol for commenting on some of my cards, I only just worked out how to view comments people make.....lol....things are still new to me ! You have really made my day & spurred me on, I was so chuffed to find them!! Thank you!
One from Dawn Bibby's Woodland Creatures Kit today. Something I got as a TSV on QVC a while back. I tend to make kit cards when I am a bit stuck in creative slump, not that I think they are easy or fill a gap or anything, it's just that they are sort of done for you, if you know what I mean. I do love some of the images she has created in this kit & it was excellent value for money too. I tend to use all kits I buy for elements in my crafting, either papers with stamps or altering or maybe toppers form one kit & papers I like from another at the time, mix & match kinda things! Off to have a blog hop myself now!.... have a great day folks!
